DGLA Needs You In 2007

by Pete

The Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance needs your support to continue to fight the battle for equality at the local level. If you want equality on the national and state level, then you must heed the phrase that "all politics is local". We have fought and won many battles including the fight for diversity training for city employees, domestic partner benefits for city employees, as well as the most progressive non-discrimination ordinance in the country. With these successes behind us, we are constantly raising the bar for Dallas while defending the gains we’ve made. We have more battles ahead and need your support. Please join DGLA by becoming a member now.

As Dallas’ future unfolds, we are grooming new LGBT leaders through the Leadership Lambda series to ensure we are duly represented. We also work to build allies with local non-LGBT politicians to ensure that our voices are heard at the city and county levels. We also reach out to ensure we are an informed community by providing town hall meetings and candidate forums on local issues affecting our community.

For over 30 years, the Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance has been the premier local voice for LGBT civil rights in the Dallas metropolitan area. The mission of The Dallas Gay and Lesbian Alliance has been to advocate for full civil rights, dignity, and self-respect for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals by educating, creating social and political change, and fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, in order to achieve the full participation of all people in society. We need your monthly support to continue this good work.

We can make a difference by making our voices heard loud and clear. Please take a moment to contribute to the DGLA mission by donating your financial support.
